I-Beam

This configuration has been specially designed to accommodate multiple scenarios where edge protection is required on I-Beams. Light but strong, adjustable and easy to understand and use, this system will reduce time delays on your site, with no compromises on safety.

Installation process

Follow a simple, repeatable process to install with safety and efficiency:

  1. Brackets, Standard Arm and Threaded Rod pre-assembled on ground using tool-less Lock Pin & R-Clip mechanism.
  2. Pre-assembled unit positioned on the I-beam and clamped into position by tightening the Threaded Rod.
  3. Handrail Post and Standard Arm then attached using Lock Pin & R-Clip mechanism.
  4. Handrails secured to Handrail Posts using tool-less Spring Clip mechanism.
  5. Complete final checks and handover to site manager.
  6. Dismantle process is the reverse to installation.

Installation can also be done from the safety of the ground before the I-beam is craned into place. Working on the ground, indicative install time of under 40 minutes for 100 metres (assumes two person team and pre-assembly of brackets and handrail posts). Check out the video for more information.

Components

Additional components may be required, depending on whether bracing is needed.

For handrail:

  • Handrail Tube (part #HR4 to HR#6)
  • Handrail Joiners/External Sleeve Couplers (part #1165/#SES)
  • Fixed 90° Couplers (part #SFC) and/or Swivel Couplers (part #SSC) – for joining handrails at corners

For each post:

  • 1 x Handrail Post/Swivel Handrail Post (part #1101/#1102)
  • 2 x Beam Brackets (part #1154) and/or Fixed Beam Bracket (#1156)
  • 1 x Threaded Rod (with 2 x Lock Nuts) (part #1245/#1260/#1275)
  • 2 x Standard Arms (part #1172 to 1177)
  • 1 x H-Frame Bracket (part #1150)
  • 6 x Lock Pins (part #1182)
  • 6 x R-Clips (part #1900)
